摘要
The construction and operation of transportation infrastructure, in particular roadway pavements, lies at the nexus of two major sources of our global sustainability challenge; large amounts of emissions from both transportation activities and construction materials production. Within this paper, the use of life cycle assessment models to quantify the impact of various pavement applications is discussed, along with the asphalt pavement durability models necessary for pavement service life prediction. These two concepts are then integrated though a probabilistic design framework for sustainable pavement infrastructure.
