Synthesis of high-silica glasses with an increased thermal expansion coefficient

摘要
It is revealed that the impregnation of porous glasses with mixed sodium- and potassium-containing solutions whose pH is equal to 8-9 provides a way to increase the thermal expansion coefficient for impregnated vicor glasses. The vicor glasses obtained have a thermal expansion coefficient that varies over a wide range, from 8 x 10(-7) -40 x 10(-7) K-1. These glasses can be used as the intermediate glasses in the electrovacuum industry to produce seals with tungsten.
