The cultural psychological perspective in psychology of religion: Research on "bevindelijke" spirituality by way of example

After distinguishing psychology of religion from other forms of psychological attention for religion and after noting the difficulties in defining both 'religion' and 'psychology', the paper introduces a cultural psychological perspective and reports from an empirical investigation on the spirituality of the "bevindelijken", a mystical tradition within Dutch Calvinism.
