摘要
Introduction: Hypercalcaemia is a frequent complication in patients with malignancies. The clinical findings are multiple and are often not recognized. We report a patient with renal failure caused by cancer-induced hypercalcaemia. Case Report: A 46-year-old patient with a uterus sarcoma (T2b, N1, M1, G3) presents a renal failure with rising serum creatinin levels and oliguria after hysterosalpingo-oophorectomy. We started a parenteral volumen expansion and a medication with intravenous ibandronate. After three days serum calcium and after eight days renal function was normalized. The improvement of the renal function was necessary to start chemotherapy with ifosphamide and doxorubicin. In addition to radiotherapy of thoracic spine, head and right femur a percutaneous osteoplasty of a large osteolytic lesion of the right femur was performed to reduce pain and increase stability. After these interventions the patient was painless and mobile. Conclusion: Despite renal failure this patient was treated successfully with intravenous ibandronate. Renal function normalized and chemotherapy was possible.
