摘要
Introduction: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) causes severe infections of the skin and soft tissues at the hospital level and in recent years in the community. Tedizolid, is a new oxazolidinone with an in vitro potency greater than the linezolid against this type of microorganism. Objective: To know the antimicrobial activity of tedizolid and comparative antibiotics in MRSA isolates causing skin and soft tissue infections in hospitals in Colombia. Materials and methods: Prospective, multicenter, study for 12 months in 7 Colombian third level hospitals. MRSA isolates were collected from adult patients with skin and soft tissue infections. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was determined by the E-test technique (Biomerieux) to tedizolid, linezolid, vancomycin, daptomycin, trimethoprim sulfamethoxazole and clindamycin. Results: Isolates of MRSA were obtained from 102 patients. Of these, 56 (54.9%) were male and the mean age was 46.8 years. The infection was of community onset in 77 cases (75.4%). The type of sample that predominated was abscess in 69 patients (67.6%). All isolates were sensitive to tedizolid, linezolid, daptomycin. trimethoprim sulfamethoxazole and vancomycin. Tedizolid showed greater in vitro activity than linezolid. The MIC intervals of tedizolid ranged from 0.125 mu g / mL to 0.5 mu g / mL whereas for linezolid they ranged from 1 mu g / mL to 2 mu g / mL. Conclusions: circulating strains of MRSA in Colombia are highly sensitive to tedizolid and are considered a therapeutic alternative for skin and soft tissue infections in our country.
