摘要
The mass differences between a charged pion and a neutral pion and between a charged kaon and a neutral kaon are calculated on the basis of a Higgs-type potential assigned to quarks. Moreover, an explanation is given for the mass spectrum of mesons. The results challenge the common view on quarks and the classification scheme of hadrons, and they support the validity of a classical field theory for quantum physics.(C) 2012 Physics Essays Publication.
