摘要
The statistical characteristics of signal fluctuations in multimode fiber-optic transmission systems are investigated theoretically. Analytical expressions and their asymptotics are derived for the probability distributions of signal fluctuations in the radiation detector (photodetector) operating in the photon-counting mode. The asymptotic expressions obtained are suitable for practical calculations of the noise immunity of optical signal reception as well as the operating efficiency of multimode fiber-optic transmission lines used in various communication systems.
