摘要
As the economic and cultural globalization is accelerating, the transnational turn in literary studies is overwhelmingly emerging, with more and more contemporary writers engaging in writing of global fictions; meanwhile a considerable number of fictions turn out to be of globalizing tendency or of global vision as the grandeur background. Wish You Were Here by the contemporary British writer Graham Swift possesses a conspicuous global view. This paper is intended to illustrate the globalization narrative features of this novel on the basis of Rita Barnard's definition of global fictions to illustrate the globalizing trend in the contemporary literary field on the one hand and construct a panoramic global landscape based on the detailed analysis of the text to interpret the global issues from the philosophical and ecological perspectives so as to expose cultural and military conflict as well as the identity anxiety of the marginalized and the emotion deficiency caused by the violent capitalist production.
