摘要
The virtual machining technique is a key issue of Virtual Manufacturing (VM) system, and the simulation of virtual machining process is a focus research field at the present time. This paper addresses the importance of integrating a virtual manufacturing system with the Internet and proposes a web-based, scalable and distributed architecture for developing a platform-independent virtual NC turning system. A Web-based virtual turning system has been developed using Virtual Reality Modelling Language and Java, and describes the structure of the system and the realization of its main functions. The user can easily setups machining conditions, operates the virtual turning machine in a web browser, and evaluates and optimizes the machining process on the Internet
