摘要
Ambient intelligence (AmI) envisions a seamless environment where people are surrounded by computing and networking technology, as well as with intuitive interfaces embedded in the everyday objects around them. The interfaces recognize and respond to human presence and behavior in a personalized and relevant way. The realization of the AmI vision can have wide-ranging implications in many facets of our lives, including education, business processes, home automation, and effective delivery and management of healthcare. A brief description is given of the concept, the key characteristics, and enabling technologies for AmI, along with some of the future interface and display technologies. The potential applications of AmI technologies in smart rooms, future learning, and virtual product creation environments are discussed.
