The posterior Properitoneal approach, as described by L. M. Nyhus, is a safe and sound procedure for the repair of adult groin hernias. This article reports a series of 143 hernioplasties in 119 consecutive patients. Ow overall recurrence rate of 2.1% and 1.26 for the 126 mesh repairs, in a median follow-up of 40 months, with zero mortality compare favorably with results reported in contemporary literature.
