Microcanonical evidence of a first-order phase transition in the four-dimensional U(1) lattice gauge theory

Using microcanonical Monte Carlo simulations, we present numerical evidence that the phase transition in the four-dimensional compact U(1) lattice gauge theory with the Wilson action is weakly first order.
