摘要
Fourty-four varieties of mango (Mangifera indica L.) were evaluated under the agro-climatic conditions of Punjab in Pakistan. The study was based on the parameters, i.e., flavour, taste, colour of the fruit, pulp percentage, fiber, weight of the fruit, yield/tree, T.S.S., acidity, sugars, vitamin C contents and ripening time. The organoleptic and chemical evaluation of fruits revealed excellent quality with maximum flavour, taste, colour of fruit, pulp, least fiber and acidity in cvs. Chaunsa, Anwar-retaul, Dusehri, SS-I, SS-II, SS-III, Hussain-pasand-II, followed by same results of cvs. Sindhri, Yakta, Tamuria, Saleh-bhai, Ghulab-khas, Joiawala, Sensation and Spring fels. The ripe fruit of cultivars SS-III, Hussain Pasand-II, Chaunsa, Joiawala, Anwar-retaul, Dusehri, Pohilot, Shahpasand, Baganpali, Tamuria, Zafran, Ghulab-khas, Swarnareeeka, Maqwalwala, Amarwala, Rataywala, Momi-K, and Langra showed highest T.S.S. values, i.e., from 22-26 percent. Moreover, maximum vitamin C contents were observed in cultivars Sanglakhi and Chaunsa (145 mg) followed by cvs. Alphanso (98.5 mg) and Zafran (93.5 mg) per100 g of pulp. All other varieties under study were averaged between 29 -69.3 mg/100 g. Comparatively, the climate of Sindh province is one month earlier than Punjab province, therefore, the cultivation of varieties like Dusehri, Chaunsa, Sindhri and Yakta are recommended for mid season fruit production and the varieties like Sensation, Joiwala, SS-I, SS-III, Hussain-pasand-II, Sanglakhi and Tamuria for late season purpose for maximum economical return.
