摘要
Haematobiochemical parameters of 36 diarrhoeic calves and 6 normal healthy calves were compared. Mean PCV values, TEC and TLC values in diarrhoeic calves were significantly higher than that of healthy calves. Biochemical parameters such as serum potassium, chloride, total protein, globulins, albumin and A:G ratio were found to be increased significantly in diarrhoeic calves as compared to that of healthy calves. Diarrhoea leads to haemoconcentration due to dehydration. PCV, TEC and TLC are indicators of dehydration and infection respectively. Besides these, serum total protein, albumin, globulin, chloride and potassium levels can also be used as indicators for severity of diarrhoea.
