摘要
Wildlife survey in Qazinag Game Reserve was conducted From April 1998 to July 1998. The presence of Pir Punjal markhor (Capra falconeri cashmiriensis, musk deer (Muschus chrysogaster), grey goral (Naemorhedus goral), snow leopard (Uncia uncia), black bear (Ursus thibetamus), leopard cat (Felis bengalensis), yellow throated martin (Martes flavigula) grey langur (Presbytis entellus), rhesus monkey (Macaca mulatta). red fox (Vulpus vulpus), chir pheasant (Catreus wallichii), western tragopan (Tragopan melaneocephalus), Himalayan monal (Lophophorus impejanus), Kashmir koklas (Pucrasia macrolopha). chukar (Alectoris chukar) and Himalayan snowcock (Tetragallus himalayensis). Poaching, habitat degradation and deforestation are the major threats to the biodiversity. The economic and educational level of the local people should be raised and local community be involved in the conservation programmes.
