Using tunable high-flux synchrotron X-rays we have studied the threshold emission of Pd Auger electrons for both the core-core-core (L-3-M4,5M4,5) and the core-valence process (L-3-N4,5N4,5) The observed resonance behaviour is interpreted in terms of radiationless resonant Raman scattering. The main valence band reveals a Fano-type modulation in the accurately intensity normalised constant initial state data. However, no such behaviour is obtained for the satellite region if the resonant L-3-N4,5N4,5 Auger channel is taken properly into account Which partly overlaps with the valence band satellite around the L-3 threshold.
