Women in building a culture of peace and coping with gender-based violence

This article aims to reflect on the culture of peace spread by the United Nations Organization and the role of women in confronting gender violence. We work with bibliographical research from authors who reflect on the theme of the culture of peace and the confrontation of gender violence. The reflection indicates that women can contribute to the construction of a culture of peace insofar as they begin to question gender violence, excluse systems, male chauvinist, sexist, if they are willing to create new social relations based on dialogue, nonviolent communication, in the construction of just and equitable relations.
