Magnetic properties of the UNi2 single crystal have been studied by magnetisation and susceptibility measurements. A large magnetocrystalline anisotropy between the c-axis and the basal plane has been observed. The Curie temperature T-c approximate to 18 K. Hydrostatic pressure reduces T-c with the pressure coefficient partial derivative T-c/partial derivative p = 0.08 +/- 0.03 K kbar(-1). The negative coefficient supports the description of UNi2 as an itinerant 5f-ferromagnet with a large orbital contribution.
