摘要
This paper presents the results of the SUMO R&D project led by CNES (French Space Agency) and developed by Alcatel TITN Answare and IRIT Research laboratory. This project provides an innovative approach for global and distributed management system involving object-oriented technologies such as CIM, CORBA and Java. As SUMO is based on CORBA, first parr is making a general presentation of SUMO concepts and focuses on the ways CORBA has been used. In a second part, we present extensions that were made to SUMO to offer integrated management services tin particular fault tolerance and security to the CORBA environment. Finally, last part presents an example of use of SUMO and SUMO services, addressing SUMO self-management. As a result, this paper is both presenting results of an utilisation of CORBA, acid at the same time solutions for managing and offering services to CORBA.
