摘要
In this article, we propose an automatic method for building area extraction from optical high-resolution imagery by using the recently developed morphological building index (MBI). First, the original MBI feature is calculated to highlight the potential buildings in the imagery. Second, a post-processing framework is used to remove false alarms by taking advantages of the spectral, shadow and shape information. Third, an intensity feature of building area is generated from the buildings and finally the building area result is obtained. Experiments on two high-resolution images are conducted to validate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.
