Semiconductor detectors are very appealing devices for digital imaging applications. We have developed two radiographic systems based on microstrip silicon crystals and on GaAs pixel detectors: the intrinsically digital feature of these devices, coupled to the high spatial resolution for the first one and to the high detection efficiency of the second one, could make them useful in the medical imaging field.
