Homodinuclear alkoxide derivatives of arsenic(III): Synthesis and spectroscopic studies

摘要
A series of new homodinuclear alkoxide derivatives of arsenic(III) of the type [(RO)(2)P(S)S](2)As(mu OPri)(2)AS(OPri)(2) [where, R = Me(1); Et(2); Pr-i(3); Pr-n(4); and Bu-n(5)] have been synthesized by unimolar reactions of chlorobis(dialkyldithiophosphato)asenic(III) compounds, [(RO)(2)P(S)S](2)AsCl, with sodium tetraisopropoxoarsenate(III), Na[As(OPri)(4)], in anhydrous benzene solution. All the new compounds in the series are non-volatile, moisture sensitive, yellow coloured, viscous liquids which are soluble in common organic solvents. These compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses and molecular weight measurements. FF IR and multinuclei NMR (H-1, C-13 and P-31) spectral studies have been carried out to propose the probable structure of these derivatives.
