摘要
The objective of the paper is to summarize results from three-dimensional finite element analyses performed in order to assess the performance of the deep foundation for a RCC-dam (roller compacted concrete) of a hydro power plant project. Of main concern are the stress distribution within the roller compacted concrete dam and the settlement behaviour of the deep foundation. The geology in the region of the power plant is inhomogeneous and consists of rock/soil layers with very different mechanical properties reaching from high quality rock to poor quality rock (appearance like soil material), hence a two dimensional representation of this boundary value problem is not possible and full 3D modelling is required. All calculations in the paper are performed with the finite element code Plaxis 3D and the mechanical behaviour of the soil is described with the Hardening Soil model.
