摘要
This article aims to analyze, from the historical and comparative perspectives, the female social representations of three operettas staged by an amateur theatrical group in the city of Sao Joao del-Rei, at the beginning of the 20th century. In this sense, the roles played by them in the plays seem to indicate that, in that context, the female characters were still subjugated by the rules of patriarchy, but began to question and not accept so peacefully some imposed postures. Thus, by representing a change of attitude on the part of female representatives, it is possible, on the one hand, to notice the heterotopic role of theater and, on the other hand, a possible attempt to deconstruct the current system.
