摘要
This article presents a hybrid technique for the removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) using electron beam (EB) irradiation and catalytic oxidation in the presence of microwaves (MW). Two laboratory installations for the study of air pollution control are described. These installations are to be distinguished by the method of irradiation. In the first one the EB irradiation and the catalytic oxidation in the presence of MW take place successively while in the second installation all the processes take place at the same time. In the first case the process of VOCs removal was studied while in the second case the removal of acid gases (SO2 and NOx) from air was analyzed. In both cases a synergistic effect of the combined use of EB and MW irradiation was noticed.
