A "Digital Thematic Information System of Austria's Land Use and Land Cover" on a medium scale

摘要
A land use and land cover data set for the entire territory of AUSTRIA is available at the Department of Geography and Regional Studies, Klagenfurt University, Carinthia. The data set is hierarchically ordered, especially as to urban land use types. The geometrical resolution as well as the accuracy of the delineation of the land use patches is more detailed than in any other comparable data sets. A number of land use categories ale shown for the first time, such as, e.g., different classes of forests (defined by the percentage of deciduous trees versus coniferous trees) or the differentiation between arable land and grassland areas.
