摘要：
A basic concept of structural damage assessment with respect to residual carrying capacity is proposed basing on the global structural stiffness or potential energy degradation due to damage. Possible sources of uncertainties in structural and material data, numerical models as well as in-situ measurements are modelled statistically. The approach developed is applicable to both numerical and experimental damage assessment.
