Synthesis and characterization of novel hyperbranched poly(arylene ether) from a AB2 monomer

摘要
A novel AB, monomer has been synthesized. The monomer lead to a new semi-fluorinated hyperbranched poly(aryl ether) by nucleophilic displacement polymerization reaction. The resulting polymer exhibited a number average molecular weight 8,200 and polydispersity index 1.19. The polymer is highly soluble in different common organic solvents like, CHCl3, Toluene, DMF THF, DMAc, NMP, CH2Cl2 and acetone. The polymer showed reasonably good thermal stability up to 379 degrees C for 5 % weight loss in air and showed a glass transition temperature at 132 degrees C.
