摘要
Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 Galaxies (NLS1s) are not fully understood in context of the unified model of active galactic nuclei (AGN). To investigate what NLS1s are, we have compiled emission-line data from the literature. Using this data set, we found the following facts. (1) The Strength of highly ionized emission lines of NLS1s and that of normal Seyfert 1 galaxies are indistinguishable and stronger than that of Seyfert 2 galaxies statistically. This suggests the similarity of the viewing angle between NLS1s and normal Seyfert 1 galaxies. (2) Some other emission-line ratios are similar between NLS1s and the other Seyferts although NLS1s have steeper X-ray spectral energy distribution than the other types of Seyferts. We confirmed from our photoionization model calculations that this property can be understood in the framework of the photoionization scheme.
