Accurate measurement of small Gaussian laser beam diameters using various rulings

摘要
A new analytical approach based on Fourier transform and convolution operations for measuring very small Gaussian laser beam diameters is proposed. In addition, a comparative study of various recently reported rulings is presented. A general rule of thumb approach to select a ruling for measuring small beam diameters is demonstrated. Finally, a new Ronchi ruling capable of measuring extremely small beam radius is proposed. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
