摘要
This paper presents an efficient communication protocol called Eolo, adopted as the support for an experimental Object Oriented Distributed System called NanOS. Eolo is a connection-less protocol with rate-based flow control. It directly allows group communication using as an underlying support an high performance network. In its first implementation Eolo will use Fast Ethernet as the supporting network. Eolo allows transparency in addressing the intercommunicating entities introducing the concept of channel. Selective-repeat is used as a retransmission scheme.
