摘要
In September 2019, IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine published its first special issue on 6G. The articles shared ideas about what 6G networks should be and what requirements we should target when designing them. They identified concepts and trends that have helped the community steer its research. The issue was a success, and it was transformed into a series in collaboration with the IEEE Future Networks initiative. This month, IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine includes its fourth 6G special issue (the third in collaboration with IEEE Future Networks). It offers a selection of six high-quality articles covering technologies that are expected to play a key role in 6G networks. This includes terahertz technologies, artificial intelligence-based service provisioning and edge technologies, joint radar and communication systems, intelligent reflecting surfaces, and multicarrier division duplexing. I would like to thank series editors Klaus David, Anwer Al-Dulaimi, Harald Haas, and Rose Qingyang Hu for their hard work and constant support to make the 6G series the success that it is.
