摘要
High-resolution synchrotron X-ray and neutron powder diffraction of Bi1-xCaxMnO3 (x greater than or equal to 0.75) has shown that these systems present a phase segregation coinciding with the electronic localization of the e(g) electrons. The very precise results obtained provide evidence of a mechanism for phase segregation based on subtle compositional heterogeneity effects. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
