Effect of a constant electric field and nonequilibrium optical phonons on the radiation of electrons in a high-frequency field

This paper discusses the effect of a static electric field on the intraband radiation of electrons in an rf electromagnetic field, with allowance for nonequilibrium polar optical phonons, is considered. It is shown that a static field increases the fraction of radiation due to the nonequilibrium phonons relative to the nonequilibrium background radiation, in particular, to 0.8 and 0.43 in two different spectral intervals for n-type GaAs when the phonon-phonon relaxation time is 10(-11)s. The anisotropy of the radiation that results from the presence of a constant field is also studied. (C) 1996 American Institute of Physics.
