Immiscible two-component two-phase gas-liquid heat transfer on shell side of a TEMA-F heat exchanger

Systematic studies of heat transfer on shell side of a horizontal TEMA-F heat exchanger have been conducted using glycerine-water solution and air mixture. The effects of gas flux, liquid flux as well as flow pattern on heat transfer were studies in detail. The experimental data of two-phase convection heat transfer coefficient on stratified flow, intermittent flow and annular flow were correlated using an enhancement model. The correlation can be recommended for shell-and-tube heat exchanger design.
