Radwaste management in repacking of Korean nuclear power plants

摘要：
The radwaste management based on ALARA was one of considerations for the reracking of the Spent Fuel Pool (SFP) in order to reduce the radiation exposure to workers and the quantity of radioactive materials produced. Through continuous pool water cleanup, hydrolasing with clean water in the Cask Decontamination Pit, and control of airborne activity in the volume reduction area, the total radiation exposure was considerably lowered and the number of the waste drums used was remarkably reduced.
