摘要
In the context of the SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic, the objective was to analyze the adaptability and resilience strategies of indigenous communities that provide tourism services. The productive diversification of the Mexican rural space has given it characteristics related to the notion of "New Rurality", highlighting the incorporation of tourism as a complement to the economic income of rural families. In rural tourism, an incipient development is observed, whose positive impact on communities was just beginning to be seen and that since the pandemic it has been necessary to deploy various adaptive strategies to adjust to the "new normal". The research was qualitative, developed from the perspective of a multiple case study. The results allow to know the processes of historical, spatial, economic, environmental and social adaptability, based on the processes of economic slowdown and suspension of non-essential activities in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is concluded that the complex and heterogeneous nature of rural societies is an important reservoir of survival strategies that will become increasingly important in the face of an uncertain future, associated with the eminent crisis of the Anthropocene.
