Realization of parametric modeling for gear surface geometric model based on commerce CAD software

摘要
Parametric modeling method and technology further standardize and simplify product development, which marks the modernization of product design. In accordance with insufficient parametric modeling functions of existing CAD software and according to the needs of product serialization development at enterprises, a parametric method of gear surface geometric model is presented. The developing technology for man-machine interface of gear surface parametric modeling is discussed. The interface of parametric modeling is developed based on commerce CAD software by using Motif. Interactive process between application program of parametric modeling and I-DEAS software has been implemented. Examples of parametric solid modeling for gears are given based on I-DEAS.
