摘要
This paper describes a case study of technology transfer, where a bespoke computer aided product costing system is developed for a small make-to-order manufacturing organisation. The paper will describe the existing product costing system within the Company and will evaluate the benefits and disadvantages of the system. Using knowledge elicitation techniques, the process of costing is modelled and this information is used to design and create the new computer aided product costing system. The paper will describe the creation of this new system in terms of specification, design, validation, training, implementation and system maintenance. A justification of the technology is also given in terms of its technological and operational benefits.
