Researches on Supply chain management application of construction industry have spread out gradually in China in recent years. But it is still very fragmented and preliminary. Separated and specific studies have not lead to a systematic framework. This article analyzes the development of construction industry and its existing problems, explains the significance of study on construction supply chain management framework and analyzes its structure and scope in details. It is pointed out that the framework of construction supply chain management should include three main aspects. The first is fundamental theories study of construction supply chain management, such as: Williamson's transaction cost theory, public goods management theory, the principal-agent theory, corporate governance theory, corporate resource and capacity theory and etc. The second is researches on construction supply chain management application methods and models, including work flow management (preparation work, time, laborers, space, materials, equipments, connecting work, construction conditions), capital flow management (vertical financing, lateral financing, capital market), information flow management (data, information, knowledge), value flow management (building life cycle value management, project management methods, internal management of corporate). The third is performance evaluation study of construction supply chain management, including the research of the evaluation indicator system and evaluation methods about market or environment, construction companies and construction projects. Study of construction supply chain management framework is very important. It would lead to a systematic study on supply chain management theory application in construction industry, improve application of foreign construction supply chain management experience and research results, enhance the confidence of construction business community and government for supply chain management theory, maintain the order of construction market and sustainable healthy development of construction industry.
