Integrated non-destructive testing diagnosis of concrete structures

This paper presents an integrated non-destructive testing (NDT) method which renders possible an evaluation of the basic concrete composite properties, including the compressive strength, near-surface tensile strength, carbonation depth, and chloride content in the cover layer, as well as the bond strength of an applied coating, overlay, or repair layer. The in-situ test results indicate that such an integrated NDT approach can indeed yield a clear insight into serviceability conditions, and as a consequence, can provide reliable basic information on the condition of the concrete for designing a rehabilitation scheme, including repair.
