An imaged map can be produced quantitatively for the purpose of mineral resources prediction. In this paper, some information is extracted from a geological map, such as polygon features of strata formation and lithizones, and line features of fault influence index and its type, etc. These data can be integrated to produce a 24-bit image by data fusion technique. The result shows that a converted image geological map can hold more geological information than the original vector map can, and data fusion shows the advantages of spatial distribution character in using imaged map as a band. Furthermore, an imaged geological map holds higher accuracy so that it can be useful for better assessment of mineral resources.
