Research of the adaptive compensation of PMD based on WDM

摘要
The theoretical models for analyzing PMD in multi-channel WDM optical communication are founded. The wave shapes and frequency spectra of eight channels in WDM system that transmit in SMF are given. The most important conclusion is obtained. The influences of PMD on each channel are different, which would be considered in the development of a new PMD compensation method in WDM optical fiber communication system. By analysis of the limits of first-order PMD compensation in WDM system, the worst channel equalization method is proposed, and a detailed scheme is given.
