Analysis of reinforced concrete pier subjected to axial tension and bending

摘要
This paper reports the numerical results of the reinforced concrete pier that is subjected to axial tension and bending. For numerical analysis, the finite element approach using the three-dimensional nonlinear solid element is adopted. The parameters adopted here are axial force levels, reinforcing ratio and anchorage length of terminated main reinforcement. The numerical results agree with the results of Kawashima's experimental study. From the numerical results it becomes clear that the anchorage length of terminated main reinforcement is one of the important factors.
