摘要
Although numerous studies have examined users' perceptions regarding information system (IS) success factors, there are very few studies that have examined IS success factors from the IS developers' perspectives. The current study examined the perceptions of developers regarding the perceived importance of 18 potentially critical success factors. The results demonstrated that the 18 success criteria could be reduced to the following five factors: (1) management/user input, (2) project management, (3) characteristics of the project leader, (4) methodology, and (5) characteristics of the team members. The results suggest that IS developers perceive management/user input as the most critical factor. This was followed by characteristics of the team members and project management. Characteristics of the project leader and methodology were viewed as the least important factors for determining IS success. The relative importance of the factors was not affected by the experience, position, or level of education of the IS developers.
