Service supply chain: The tendency of supply chain management

Services have become increasingly important. in the. Chinese economy. Unfortunately, there has been little research on service supply chains. It is believed that service businesses can benefit by applying some best practices from manufacturing to their service processes. However, the inherent differences in services create-a need for supply chain management tools specific to the services sector. This paper firstly documents the growing importance of services sector in China. Next, it reviews the existing literature related to the service supply chain, and analyzes the features of service supply chain management comparing with the traditional manufacturing oriented supply chain management. Finally, it indicates the facing problems and future researches of service supply chain management.
