Interfacial bond strength for sisal fibre concrete composite

摘要
In this study the interfacial bond strength of sisal fibre-concrete composite was determined using two methods. In one of these methods, a negative value of -0.43 N/mm(2) was obtained. This method was ruled out because it is not possible to have a negative value for the interfacial bond strength. The second method produced a value of 0.028 N/mm(2) and was accepted as a reasonable way of determining an approximate value for the interfacial bond strength between sisal, fibre and concrete. This was because the value obtained appeared reasonable when compared with other bond strength values for other cement composites. Therefore this second method was recommended for the determination of the interfacial bond strength for other cement composites with fibres of similar characteristics as those of sisal fibres.
