摘要
A frequency modulated laser radar is being developed for in-vessel metrology and viewing of plasma-facing surfaces. Some optical components of this sensor must withstand intense gamma radiation (3 x 10(6) rad/h) during operation. We have tested the effect of radiation on a silica core polarization maintaining optical fiber and on TeO2 crystals at doses rep to similar to 10(9) rad. Additional tests are planned for evaluating the performance of a complete acousto-optic (AO) scanning device. The progress made in these tests is also described.
