Photocatalytic degradation of water-soluble dyes by LaCoO3

摘要
Perovskite-type oxides LaCoO3 was prepared by citrate method in granula of 20 similar to 30 nm. Using a fluorescent Hg lamp or sunlight as irradiator, the degradation experiments of various water-soluble dyes were carried out in the suspension system of LaCoO3. The results show that the perovskite-type oxide LaCoO3 has good photocatalytic activity. With the study of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and photoacoustic spectra, its photocatalytic activity is mainly related with the factors such as the d-electron structure of ion Co3+, Co-O binding energy and adsorbed oxygen on the surface etc.
