摘要
Carbohydrate metabolism changes are constantly present during pregnancy; thus, we must treat this problem very carefully. Gestational diabetes represents the most common form of these modifications. The incidence of gestational diabetes increased during the last years due to introducing new criteria for diagnosis and also by increasing the risk factors rates. The necessity of a better knowledge and approach regarding gestational diabetes is accentuated by the multiple risk and complications it implies. An accurate diagnosis and an appropriate therapeutic approach are essential for maternal health and for a good development of the fetus. In this research, we will make a systematic review of the specialty literature in order to analyze gestational diabetes in pregnancy and the impact it has both on the mother and on the fetus, presenting the possible outcomes.
